What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Assistant II position at UNC Health Southeastern?
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Provides personal care and basic care to patients assigned to Emergency Services, under the direct supervision of a RN.
- On an as needed basis receives and direct all visitors, patients and incoming calls.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant I and Nursing Assistant II course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Current listing with the NC Department of Health and Human Services as a Nursing Assistant I and current listing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- BLS certification required; recertification required per American Heart Association guidelines.
Preferred:
- Two years of experience in a healthcare facility.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to the age group(s) of patients assigned to the unit.
- Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
Location: UNC Health Southeastern · EMERGENCY SERVICES
Schedule: Full time-Benefits, Nights / rotating weekends, 12hrs; 7pm-7am
