Unbound Stockton Community School is a 4th- 8th community-based charter school that focuses on a high quality education paired with rich community opportunities. Unbound Stockton Community School will opened its doors to its founding class of students and eventually serve 300 students during the 2029-2030 school year. We are actively building a founding team that shares our belief that with strong academics, authentic relationships, student leadership opportunities, and a hands-on community rooted approach, all students can become successful agents of change for themselves and their community.


Job Summary of the Founding Teacher (Multiple Subject or Single Subject)

Our Founding Teachers will work directly with students, families, and staff to ensure the academic and social-emotional success of our students. The Founding Teachers will provide high quality instruction with culturally relevant learning experiences, while building a classroom community rooted in respect, achievement, and diversity. The Founding Teachers will support all students and families in feeling welcomed, engaged, and valued.  


Qualifications

Unbound Stockton Community School has launched a search for an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and mission driven team of Founding Teachers. To enable us to select the candidates most qualified to develop our classroom communities, drive results with students, and serve as proactive members of our founding team, we have established the following qualifications for this position:


  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Evidence of positive relationship building with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders to drive studet achievement. 
  • Knowledge of learning development, California State Standards, and Assessments
  • Knowledge and skills in building strong classroom culture
  • Knowledge of differentiation and project based learning
  • Commitment to our shared values around diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate well with students, families, and colleagues
  • Willingness to reflect and develop
  • Possess a valid California Teaching Credential or be in the process of securing one

  • Possess required Commission on Teacher Credentialing certificate, permit, or other equivalent document (as applicable).

Compensation and Benefits

The Teacher position offers a competitive salary comparative to job experience that is benchmarked against local school districts and charter schools. The current pay scale for Unbound Stockton is from $58,000 - $102,000 depending on years of experience and educational degrees. Additional stipends are available based on additional education or licensure. Unbound Stockton also offers competitive employee benefits rates with regards to health, dental, vision, and participation in the CalSTRS retirement system.
