What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Digital Accounts & Label Management (Nordics) position at umusic?
We’re looking for someone to join us from April 2025 until September 2026 in this temporary position, covering roles in both the Commercial Marketing and Label Management teams during their respective leaves. These roles will be covered consecutively, not simultaneously, allowing you to focus fully on each. We’re looking for someone with previous experience in the music industry – from labels, DSPs, marketing, PR, or project management. You should be comfortable navigating both the business and analytical sides of the industry while working closely with artists and labels. Key Responsibilities: Commercial Strategy and Account Management Own and manage relationships with key digital services in the Nordic countries: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Tidal and others Partner with labels and label managers on promotion of new release and catalogue digital content Use insights and analytics from varied sources to discover and present opportunities to increase revenue, work cross-departmentally to action priorities from outside home markets Maintain and communicate understanding of marketing opportunities, systems and strategies of assigned partners Manage and grow relationships with marketing, editorial, operations and management contacts of assigned partners Develop and implement plans for key labels and projects to increase revenue from catalogue Create and present regular business reviews and growth plans for partners, and prepare strategy plans for management team Educate internal and external stakeholders on most current practices, strategies and opportunities Label Development Manage the day-to-day relationships with selected local label partners acting as the primary point of contact externally to the label and internally representing your labels' interests Work with the Label Development team to strategize on growth of local music content on a global level. Manage select label partners' priority release campaign logistics from inception through to analysis, working with other internal departments as necessary, and implementing Best Practices across release campaigns Work to develop a strategic partnership with label partners to help guide distribution strategy Liaise with all internal departments (local, and global) to ensure all label partners' business needs are met Drive product adoption of Virgin Music Group’s technology platforms and services across the label roster Skills and Experience Significant label and/ or account facing experience at a distributor, DSP, management or record company Pre-existing contacts to local services/ DSPs would be advantageous Collaborative, resourceful, positive and organized Exceptional communication skills including public speaking and presentation skills Deep knowledge and understanding of digital entertainment marketplace, industry trends, competitive landscape, differences among markets Experience sourcing, interpreting and presenting industry insights and analytics in the sales process Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a project deadline environment Knowledge of digital distribution process and managing lead-times Excellent skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Word A passion for all kinds of music, and passion for discovering what moves people to listen Languages: Norwegian, fluent business English.
