Umpqua Dairy Foods Inc., a leading supplier and distributor of high-quality award-winning dairy products, is looking for a transport driver to join our winning team. The Transport driver will be an essential member of the distribution team, and a face of our company. This is a physically demanding job and candidate must have 18 months experience with a Class A- CDL.
Wage range $25.73 - $28.59
Essential Functions: Candidate must have 18 months of experience with a Class A- CDL.
- Reads work orders/load sheets or follows oral instructions to ascertain that all products are on the truck and delivered in a safe and timely manner.
- Loads and unloads products from delivery truck using hand trucks and pallet jacks on some routes.
- Knowledge of all products both current and new.
- Always maintain the correct temperature of your truck/trailer.
- Observe all driving laws, safe and defensive driving is very important.
- Make sure your load is secure before moving.
- Learn to operate the Handheld Route accounting computer and printer assigned to each driver
- Keep delivery truck clear of clutter and clean up spills.
- Report vehicle and safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Transfer inner office mail and pick up freight when applicable.
- Mount tire chains on specified tires as needed (subject to weather conditions)
- Confirm load is of legal weight
- Other duties as assigned
