Faculty Full-Time
UCC is seeking a Full-Time Faculty member to help us network the next generation of IT and cybersecurity professionals!
You’ll teach operating systems, networking, and cybersecurity using industry-relevant tools and modern teaching practices. Courses may be face-to-face, online, or hybrid, and faculty are expected to teach across all modalities.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll help develop curriculum, build community and industry partnerships, support student recruitment and job placement, lead advisory committees, and maintain an active on-campus presence.
The Computer Information Systems program provides a quality education that prepares students for successful careers in IT, server administration, and networking, while encouraging continuous learning and professional growth. UCC has an AI lab incubator network, sponsored by Intel, Dell, and the American Association of Community Colleges. UCC is an authorized Cisco Networking Academy, EC-Council Academia Partner, Palo Alto Networks Academy, and VMware Academy.

Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements of respective academic and/or technical fields: For CTE faculty, this includes the following:
- A minimum of a master’s degree in CIS or the equivalent, such as IT or cybersecurity, from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of two (2) years of work/college-level teaching experience in IT or cybersecurity
- Willingness to earn necessary industry certifications (Cisco, CompTIA, EC-Council, and Microsoft) within two years of hiring.
- With either or both in-class and online instruction experiences
- Three years or more of community college teaching experience in IT or cybersecurity
- Three years or more of verifiable work experience related to the IT or cybersecurity field
- Industry Certifications (Cisco, CompTIA, EC-Council, Microsoft, etc.)
- Working knowledge of configuring Cisco routers, switches, and network appliances
- Working knowledge of VMware, AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network or other enterprise virtualization platforms
- Working knowledge of architecting, deploying and troubleshooting network operating systems for Windows Server and/or various Linux OS
- Working knowledge of designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or newer Active Directory Domain Services, group policy management, backup and recovery, and updates
