Position Title: Harvest Market Program Assistant
Reports to: Harvest Market Program Manager
Status: Part-time, hourly

Position Summary

The Harvest Market Program Assistant supports day-to-day operations of UMMA’s food distribution program. This includes checking in clients, stocking and organizing inventory, and providing a respectful and compassionate experience for every person we serve. The ideal candidate is dependable, friendly, comfortable with technology, and able to lift and move boxes as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients using a simple digital system
• Assist with unloading, stocking, and organizing food and supplies
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
• Support crowd flow and answer questions from clients
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Report any issues or needs to the Program Manager or Director of Operations & Programs
• Other duties as assigned to support program success

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills (comfortable using a tablet or check-in software)
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Strong people skills, patience, and compassion
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
• Bilingual (especially Spanish) is a plus
• Previous customer service or food distribution experience is helpful but not required

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is in-person at UMMA’s Harvest Market. The schedule may include weekday mornings, afternoons, and occasional weekends. Flexibility is a plus.
