What You Will Be Doing
As our Summer Engineering Intern, you will gain exposure to an innovative global materials technology business that makes materials for a better life. During the three months of your internship, you will gain valuable experience working with our Process Engineers on real world issues in a chemical manufacturing plant. This may include:

This position is located at the Palm Commodities International, LLC facility in LaVergne, Tennessee. The facility is a Drug-Free Workplace, and pre-employment drug testing is required.
This position is paid on an hourly basis and will last three months during the summer.

What You Will Be Doing
As our Summer Engineering Intern, you will gain exposure to an innovative global materials technology business that makes materials for a better life. During the three months of your internship, you will gain valuable experience working with our Process Engineers on real world issues in a chemical manufacturing plant. This may include:
- Overseeing and supporting contractor activities;
- Handling projects that support communication between maintenance, contractors, and operations for initial engineering trials;
- Collaborating with experienced process engineers on the installation phase of larger projects;
- Monitoring timelines and progress of equipment installations to meet scheduling demands;
- Working with Process Engineers in an assigned area to develop recommendations for current operations and future development;
- Demonstrating data driven problem-solving methodology; and,
- Completing a designated improvement project.

As well as current pursuit of a mechanical or chemical engineering degree with at least one year into the major concentration from an ABET accredited program, you should:
- Have the ability to apply technical math skills to solve real world problems;
- Be self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, report writing skills, and presentation abilities;
- Work well in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams;
- Have experience with contributing to the creation of reports, dashboards, and presentations;
- Be proficient in MS Office applications; and,
- Have knowledge of AutoCAD.
