Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Grinder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for grinding, deburring, and finishing sheet metal parts to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role is critical to the final stage of the fabrication process and requires precision, consistency, and an eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Grind, sand, and polish sheet metal parts using hand grinders, belt sanders, and other finishing tools.
Remove burrs, weld splatter, sharp edges, and surface imperfections to ensure smooth finishes.
Inspect and verify parts for quality and conformance to blueprints or work instructions.
Maintain consistent surface finishes on stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel components.
Safely operate angle grinders, die grinders, and other shop equipment.
Work closely with welders, fabricators, and quality control to meet production deadlines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area; adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
Perform basic maintenance on grinding tools and report equipment issues promptly.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
1 years of experience in metal grinding, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Proficient in using hand and power tools for grinding and finishing.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and work instructions.
Good physical condition; able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with stainless steel finishing (e.g., #4 brushed finish).
Experience working in a job shop or custom fabrication environment.
Understanding of metal types and surface finishing requirements.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
