Job Description Summary Organization's Summary Statement: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technology (CSET) at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is currently accepting resumes for adjuncts in the area of Computer Science. Responsibilities: •Teaching expectations include instructing undergraduate courses in Computer Science in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and on-line. •Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. •Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: •Master's or doctorate in computer science or a closely related field. •Note: Individuals with degrees outside of the United States may be subject to verification at the expense of the applicant. •Applicants must have excellence in teaching and a commitment to mentoring students. •Applicants must have effective communication skills including written communication and strong interpersonal skills. Physical Demands: •May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk. •May require lifting. •Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally. •Requires operation of a variety of office equipment. Preferences: •A strong preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the COBOL language and it's business data processing environment.
