Job Summary
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, performs re-assessments, collects data and contributes to the care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. May perform scrub activities and assist with a variety of patient care activities and interventions for patients of varying ages.
Work Experience
Two years of experience as an LVN required, preferably in a vascular outpatient health care setting.
License/Registration/Certification
Current LVN License in Texas
Current CPR
Skin and wound care certified and diabetic wound care certified required.
Education and Training
Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing required.
Skills
1. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Possesses effective interviewing and data collection techniques.
- Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- If applicable, skill and ability to concentrate and monitor instruments, sharps and sponge counts.
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
- Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
- Ability to successfully demonstrate competency in conservative sharp debridement skills using sharp instruments in clinical setting.
