Overview
We are seeking a full time Alcohol and Drug Counselor to provide group sessions in an outpatient treatment setting. The ideal candidate will be experienced with a combination of substance use and mental health recovery. This role will be mostly in-person, with some opportunity for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Create treatment plans based on client assessments.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions in an outpatient setting.
- Document treatment paperwork such as biopsychosocial assessments, intakes, diagnoses, progress reports, and discharges.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for clients.
- Offer addiction counseling as needed, supporting clients through recovery processes.
Requirements
- Substance Use Counselor must have one of the following certifications: CAC-AD (certified alcohol counselor), CSC-AD (certified substance counselor), or an ADT (alcohol and drug trainee)
- Experience in behavioral health treatment settings.
- Knowledge of addiction counseling techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in therapy.
