Umbrella Functional Consulting & Support Team is looking for compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our leadership team. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD)
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and daily routines
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
- Transport and accompany clients to community activities, appointments, and social events
- Foster independence and skill-building through positive reinforcement and person-centered approaches
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members regarding client needs and progress
- Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges and crisis situations following established protocols
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; experience in human services, caregiving, or IDD support preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- ODP Direct Support Professional Certification
- Ability to pass background checks, including PA State Police and FBI clearances
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to lift, assist, and support clients with mobility needs as required
