UMBRELLA FCST IS NOW HIRING!! WE ARE LOOKING FOR PART TIME TEAM MEMBERS FOR THE COATESVILLE AREA; TWO OR MORE EVENINGS PER WEEK; FOUR HOUR SHIFTS (POTENTIAL FOR UP TO 20 HOURS PER WEEK).
Job Summary
As a Direct Support Caregiver, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your compassionate care and support will empower residents to achieve their personal goals and foster independence. You will work closely with clients in various settings. Your dedication will ensure that each individual receives the highest quality of care while promoting dignity and respect.
What you’ll do as an Umbrella FCST Teammate
The role of a team member with Umbrella FCST is as an In-Home & Community Support Professional for Adults with Disabilities (also known as a DSP). The role of a Direct Support Professional is complex and requires a specific set of skills and values. The following represents what to expect in one's practice as a Direct Support Professional.
Direct Support Professionals assist people who need support to lead self-directed lives and participate fully in their communities. Direct Support Professionals recognize the unique gifts, preferences and needs of each person supported.
Direct Support Professionals will use knowledge, skills (competencies), and values (NADSP Code of Ethics) to guide their work and provide quality services. DSP's continue to learn and develop their professional abilities through ongoing in-service and self-directed education and training.
Experience
The National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals Competencies will be used to evaluate, develop and educate Direct Support Professionals:

o Community Living Skills and Supports
o Education, Training and Self-Development o Advocacy
o Vocational, Educational and Career Support o Crisis Prevention and Intervention

Must be 18 years of age
Must have a valid driver license and current background clearance in good standing
Must be a Certified AAW/ODP Direct Support Professional (note if you do not have certification, Umbrella offers a free certification program and will provide a 7-day grace period to become certified).
Must complete 24 hours of professional development annually to maintain certification
Must complete Trauma Informed Care Training within the first year of service and annually thereafter
