General Summary of Position:

The Management Department at the Robert J. Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is accepting applications for a non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to start Fall of 2026. The position is renewable annually, potentially leading to an appointment of Associate Teaching Professor following five consecutive years of excellent performance evaluations.

The Manning School of Business boasts a vibrant community of approximately 4,000 undergraduate, master's, doctoral, and grad certificate students and holds accreditation from AACSB International. Situated in a modern facility equipped with cutting-edge classrooms and a dedicated Trading Room housing 20 Bloomberg terminals, the school offers an unparalleled learning environment. Just 30 miles northwest of Boston, UMass Lowell serves as the second-largest public university in Massachusetts, catering to over 18,000 students.

UMass Lowell recently earned the Carnegie Mellon R1 Research classification. The Management Department offers Ph.D. in Leadership and Organizational Studies, a Management and Leadership concentration in the MBA, and a Management concentration in the BSBA program. The incoming candidate would be expected to teach three courses per semester and to engage in departmental service. Service would include student advising, mentoring, and recruiting, supporting undergraduate co-curricular activities, and managing the trading room. The successful candidate could also be appointed as the Director of Undergraduate Student Success, which provides an additional stipend.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Master's degree in Management or MBA with a Management concentration from an AACSB accredited school or be a CFA Charterholder
  • The ability to work effectively in teams
  • A record of high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to teach a wide variety of Management classes at the graduate and undergraduate level
  • Ability to advise students, supervise honors projects, and mentor the student Management club
  • Professional experience relevant to Management

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This is a full-time, benefited, Massachusetts Society of Professors/MTA/NEA union position. Anticipated salary range, minimum of $65,000 with an anticipated maximum up to $120,000/year based on qualifications.
