Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor or designee, the Receiving/Delivery Coordinator receives, delivers, and transports parcels, mail, lab specimens, and freight among sites to support critical campus operations

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor or designee, the Receiving/Delivery Coordinator receives, delivers, and transports parcels, mail, lab specimens, and freight among sites to support critical campus operations
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for the receiving, delivering and transporting of parcels, mail (confidential material), lab specimens, pharmaceuticals, hazardous chemicals, biohazardous material, radioactive materials, scientific supplies, perishables and freight.
- Deliveries of non-stock items for the hospital
- From time to time deliver pallets and other material in support of other departments
- Recognize hazardous and perishable materials for proper handling and storage
- Ensure parcels are properly inspected and inventoried before delivery
- Open, inventory, and enter non-stock clinical items received into the clinical in-bound tracking software prior to delivery
- Responsible for accurate counts and delivery
- Develop and maintain a functional understanding of electronic documentation requirements for proof of receipt and delivery, including the use of electronic proof of delivery and in-bound tracking software.
- Look up insufficiently addressed parcels and deliver to the appropriate site/location
- Prepare outgoing shipments
- Courier parcels, mail, lab specimens, hazardous chemicals, biohazardous material, scientific supplies, confidential material, and freight in UMass Chan vehicles between buildings and sites
- Transportation of passengers in UMass Chan vehicles between buildings and other locations.
- Maintain vehicles. Refuel and inspect as needed
- Develop understanding of OSHA guidelines and University policies
- Assists in work site orientation and training for new employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in receiving and transportation of goods
- Valid drivers license
- Proven ability to follow oral and written instructions, and perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Physical ability to handle bulky and heavy stock items, equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs, and be able to walk long distances
- Verbal ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to perform manual and clerical tasks of some complexity according to a routine and organized procedure, such as PO lookups and delivering in an orderly fashion
- Working knowledge of electronic manifest systems preferred. Proof of delivery (POD) experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Ability to travel to off- site locations
Salary : $47,237 - $61,880
