Compensation: $25–$35/hour, negotiable based on experience.

UMASHI is a mobile food service company using a certified commercial kitchen to create high-quality meals inspired by Japanese craftsmanship and local flavors. Our mission is to bring Hawai‘i a new kind of convenience food that prioritizes nutrition, safety, and consistency.
Role:
Part-time Food Technologist responsible for recipe development, food safety, nutrition labeling, and product testing to ensure UMASHI meals meet high standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and refine recipes for bentos and grab-and-go meals.
· Ensure food safety and compliance with HACCP/GMP.
· Advise on packaging, labeling, and shelf life.
· Source quality ingredients (local when possible).
· Support innovation for UMASHI’s growth.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in the food industry.
· Knowledge of food safety and regulatory standards.
· Experience in recipe development and scaling production.
· Degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred.
Salary : $25 - $35
