About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Set-Up Technician II to support daily operations in our Thermoforming and Extrusion department. This role ensures the smooth setup, startup, and operation of all plastic molding equipment while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards.
You’ll be responsible for machine setup, process optimization, troubleshooting, and supporting production goals through technical expertise and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and efficient mold set-ups and start-ups to maintain high machine output and utilization.
- Monitor part quality and complete First Article forms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or process issues to reduce scrap and downtime.
- Manage material systems and coordinate silo changes.
- Support packing, shrink wrapping, and assembly operations as needed.
- Execute daily system transactions in AS400 and Mattec systems.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to meet performance goals.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and GMP standards.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow housekeeping procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in plastic thermoforming, extrusion, or injection molding.
- Proven ability to perform mold set-ups, startups, and changeovers.
- Understanding of run parameters for molds, materials, and production processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Consistent and reliable attendance record.
- Stable work history — no frequent job changes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AS400 or Mattec systems.
- Prior background in packaging, shrink wrapping, or assembly processes.
- Hands-on experience in process optimization and machine efficiency improvements.
