Job Title: Aluminum Casting Supervisor (Horizontal Continuous Casting)

Position Summary
The Aluminum Casting Supervisor β Horizontal Continuous Casting (HCC) is responsible for overseeing end-to-end aluminum horizontal continuous casting operations in a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, shop-floor supervisory role responsible for safe operations, consistent product quality, and on-time delivery.
The role supervises casting and downstream operations including peeling, ultrasonic testing (UT), cutting, and packing. The Supervisor is expected to be actively involved on the floor, supporting production, troubleshooting process or equipment issues, and leading teams during critical operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesCasting Operations
- Supervise daily horizontal continuous casting operations, including metal transfer, mold/graphite tooling, cooling control, puller operation, and cut-to-length processes
- Maintain stable casting conditions by controlling metal temperature, casting speed, cooling rates, and tooling condition
- Provide hands-on support during startups, process disruptions, and equipment downtime
Downstream Operations
- Coordinate and supervise peeling, ultrasonic testing (UT), cutting, and packing activities
- Oversee peeling operations, including depth-of-cut control, tooling condition, alignment, and yield optimization
- Ensure ultrasonic testing is performed per internal procedures and customer specifications
- Review UT results, identify defect trends, and coordinate disposition of nonconforming material
- Supervise cutting operations to ensure cut-length accuracy, blade condition, and minimal material loss
- Oversee packing operations to ensure proper bundling, labeling, protection, and product traceability
Quality, Safety & Traceability
- Maintain full heat and lot traceability throughout casting, inspection, cutting, and packing
- Enforce safety requirements related to molten metal, industrial equipment, saws, UT systems, and material handling
- Monitor scrap rates, peel yield, UT rejects, cut loss, and downtime; implement corrective actions as needed
Leadership & Collaboration
- Train, coach, and develop operators across casting and downstream processes
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve equipment and process issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and process optimization
- Provide off-shift or weekend support as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Proven hands-on shop-floor supervisory experience (not office-only)
- Strong knowledge of aluminum horizontal continuous casting operations
- Working knowledge of peeling, ultrasonic testing, cutting, and packing processes
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues in real time
- Experience coordinating with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams
- Strong understanding of heat and lot traceability requirements
- Effective leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work off-shifts and weekends as needed

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to bend, squat, climb, stretch, and work safely around industrial equipment

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
