The Set-Up Tech II is responsible for ensuring optimal daily performance of thermoforming and extrusion machinery used in plastics manufacturing. This role handles accurate mold set-ups, machine start-ups, material changes, and mechanical troubleshooting to maintain high output, quality, and equipment reliability. The position supports production by monitoring part quality, reducing scrap, managing material systems, and completing system transactions. In addition, the role participates in packing, shrink-wrapping, assembly, and contributes to continuous improvement activities.

- Perform all duties of Set-Up Tech I plus advanced setup and troubleshooting tasks
- Execute mold set-ups, machine start-ups, and verify run parameters for all tools/materials
- Monitor part quality, complete First Article forms, and adjust processes as needed
- Troubleshoot thermoformer/extruder mechanical issues to maintain run efficiency
- Manage materials systems, including silo changes and material flow
- Monitor scrap levels and implement corrective actions to meet KPIs
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to meet schedules
- Accurately enter daily transactions in AS400 and Mattec systems
- Support packing, shrink wrapping, assembly, and general production tasks
- Maintain safety compliance, PPE use, housekeeping, and quality standards
- Train and mentor other team members; prepare for Process Technician II skill level
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in plastics injection/molding (mandatory)
- Minimum 2 years performing mold set-ups and machine start-ups
- Strong mechanical aptitude and processing troubleshooting capability
- Ability to understand and follow documented run parameters
- Basic computer usage for data entry and reporting
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Thermoforming or extrusion setup experience
- Knowledge of plastics materials (ABS, PET, PP, HDPE, etc.)
- Familiarity with mold/tooling heating & cooling parameters
- Experience with Lean/CI, SPC, or quality systems
- Experience with AS400, Mattec, or similar systems
- Shift: 3rd shift (11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., Monday–Friday)
- Shift differential: $1.50
- Salary: $47,000–$56,000
