Job Description Summary Organization's Summary Statement: The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) and Compliance at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites applications for a three year, full-time, grant-funded OIE Assistant position. The position will oversee initiatives pertaining to prevention education to enhance existing programs and educate the campus community about dating/domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and related issues, and the resources and services available to victims/survivors. Position reports to the Associate Director for Prevention, Education, Training, and Compliance in the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance. Responsibilities: •Administer a team for the coordinated community response (CCR) by working with Internal and External Memorandum of Understanding partners •Coordinate and lead a Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT) toward project(s) execution: 1.Develop project scopes and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders. 2.Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time within scope and within budget, develop a detailed project plan to track progress. 3.Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques. 4.Establish and maintain relationships with all stakeholders. 5.Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. •Social Media and Digital Creation: Develop and establish social media marketing and print materials to promote program information and resources to the campus community related to the grant and work from the OIE. •Outreach and Development: Strengthen student participation in the response to gender-based violence (sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and domestic violence). •Serve to expand existing outreach and awareness programming on prevention of gender-based violence, including the following: 1.Creation of a bystander intervention training for students. 2. Improve existing training for university police and other support services about how to respond effectively to occurrences of gender-based violence on campus. 3. Increase effectiveness in reaching underserved populations, namely nontraditional students, transfer students, international students, students of color, and veteran students; and improving accessibility by insuring that newly developed and education/outreach materials are ADA compliant. 4.Coordinate and lead culturally relevant prevention education efforts related to sexual violence. •Performs other related duties as assigned. Physical Demands: •May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk. •May require lifting up to 25 lbs. •Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally. •Requires operation of a variety of office equipment. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, counseling, psychology, college student personnel, special education, or other fields related to the delivery of services to a university student population, from a regionally accredited institution. Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years experience working with college students, prevention education, and leadership. Experience with writing grant reports. Experience creating graphics and social media content for marketing and promotion KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Knowledge of Title IX, the Clery Act, and VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), including their implications for campus prevention, reporting, and response efforts. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and the needs of individuals affected by sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. Knowledge of prevention education theory and best practices, including public health models of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention. Skill in writing grants reports. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
