A day in the life
- Start your shift with Gemba walks—observe, ask questions, listen actively, and surface opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve.
- Translate operating plans into clear daily/weekly/monthly targets. Align people, materials, and equipment so the right work happens at the right time.
- Model an inclusive, trusting culture. Mentor associates, coach for growth, and build skills for the team’s future.
- Be the standard-bearer for quality: drive adherence to the QMS, enable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), track quality KPIs, and advance the journey toward 5 Sigma performance.
- Execute production plans collaboratively with Planning, Customer Service, and cross-functional partners, applying Lean principles to reduce variation and eliminate waste.
- Audit rigorously—5S, Safety, Quality, and Production checks—to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Keep performance steady across handoffs by communicating effectively between shifts and departments and by sharing best practices.
- Lead sustained change: monitor production, drive improvement activities, and practice Leader Standard Work.
- Maintain enterprise alignment through tactical execution of operating plans and regular updates to Value Stream Maps.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred; or a High School diploma/Associate’s degree plus 5 years of proven people leadership.
- Experience: 3–5 years in manufacturing with a track record of meeting throughput and quality targets and applying Lean concepts.
