UCT is looking for a talented Fabrication Operator II to join us!
The Fabrication Operator II supports fabrication and production by performing a variety of shop processes including deburring, cutting, drilling, and tube bending. This role ensures parts are completed safely, accurately, and to specification in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of fabrication processes including:
- Deburring and finishing parts
- Saw cutting materials
- Drilling and basic machining operations
- Tube bending and forming
- Operate shop equipment safely and efficiently to meet quality and production requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings
- Inspect parts to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Support new product introduction (NPI) builds and prototype work with flexibility and attention to detail
- Perform material handling, staging, and part movement throughout the facility
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 6S standards
- Identify and report quality issues, defects, or equipment concerns
- Work across multiple workstations as needed to support production flow and priorities
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE

- Ability to read and interpret:
- Blueprints and basic mechanical drawings
- Familiarity with:
- Basic fabrication processes (deburring, cutting, drilling, forming)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work in a high-mix, fast-paced production environment
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and shop equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and accountability
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification a plus.
Work Experience:
- 2 years of experience in:
- Manufacturing, fabrication, or machine shop environment preferred
- Experience with:
- Deburring, sawing, drilling, or tube bending strongly preferred
- Semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing experience is a plus
Criteria:
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment supporting precision component production
- Frequent interaction with production, engineering, and operations teams
- Moderate to fast-paced environment with changing priorities and job assignments
- Work performed in accordance with 6S and safety standards
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
- Frequent use of hands and arms for tools and part handling
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as deburring and processing
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity required
- Exposure to a metal fabrication environment including moving machinery and equipment
- Moderate to high noise levels from saws, drills, and tube bending machines
- Exposure to metal materials, sharp edges, burrs, and airborne particles
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
- Work may involve frequent interruptions and changing priorities based on production needs
- May involve exposure to varying temperatures depending on shop conditions
