Staff Accountant I - Financial Reporting

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

• Preparing financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes, cash flows, schedule of investments, and footnote disclosures including financial highlights;
• Understanding of hedge funds and private equity funds under administration (legal structure, investment objective, fee structure, etc.);
• Timely response to client inquiries, as required;
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial statements;
• Completion of special projects as required;

• Ability to multi-task between different tasks and internal demands throughout the day;
• Continually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; internal company and team trainings; maintains personal networks; participates in professional development opportunities and;
• Additional duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, methods, procedures, internal controls with the ability to exercise good judgement in selecting and interpreting information;
• Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients’ business and maintain strong client relationships;
• Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professional in the performance of duties;
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, assisting in the coordination of the work of other team members as needed;
• Sound computer and technical skills, including the use of MS Office Suite and other financial systems;
• Ability to effectively provide team members and others with information and assistance as needed;
• Ability to understand and carry out accounting procedures and analysis; preparation of work papers; knowledge of financial reporting;
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, which includes excellent time management skills;
• Strong analytical skills with focus on accuracy and attention to detail;
• Demonstrate sound research, interpretive and problem-solving abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 – 2 years’ (relevant) experience in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred;
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Ability to multitask, time management, attention to detail, planning and problem-solving skills required;
• Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication with current and potential clients;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
