Job Description: Textile Machine Operator
Reports to: Production Supervisor or Lead Operator
Primary Job Function
The Textile Machine Operator is responsible for safe & effective operation of assigned continuous textile production machine (including, but not limited to the, Tenter Frame, Calendar, Slitter etc.) utilized by Ultimate Textile, Inc. for the processing of customer fabrics.
Job Duties
The job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Operate assigned machine in a safe manner consistent with Ultimate Textile, Inc. General Rules for Machine Operation.
- Operate assigned machine according to establish operating procedures to insure both the quality of fabric produced & acceptable level of production.
- Maintain operating condition of machine by observing prescribed preventative maintenance procedures including but not limited to washing down, cleaning, and lubrication (under direction of Maintenance Department) of assigned machine.
- Report any out of specification mechanical problems via written Work Order to Supervisor immediately upon discovery.
- Continually inspect and report any out of quality condition of incoming fabric or fabric produced by assigned machine.
- Complete all required production documentation and turn in at end of shift to Supervisor.
Job Qualifications
- Follow verbal & written instructions in English.
- Stand for up to a 10 hour shift on concrete floor.
- Physically move a 4000 lb A-frames utilizing hydraulic A-frame jack which involves both pushing & pulling actions.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity (corrected if necessary) to see possible fabric defects.
- Must be able to work in modern dyeing & finishing operation where ambient temperatures can reach 100 deg F in the summer time.
- Good work record of dependability and punctuality.
Educational Requirements
- High School education or GED equivalent.
WORK HOURS
- 40 hours per week / Four- 10-hour days.
- Monday - Thursday 7:00 am-5:00 pm (Paid half hour lunch break)
- Overtime available.
