Patient Responsibility Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish Preferred)
Location: Onsite during contract, then Hybrid
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST (flexible start, not before 8 AM)
Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire (conversion at 720 hours)
Pay: $58,000 - $65,000 annually
We're seeking a Patient Responsibility Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish/English) to support patients, families, and clinicians through the insurance and benefits process. In this role, you'll act as a trusted resource-helping explain coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and financial responsibility in a clear, supportive way.
This is a customer-focused, non-collections role ideal for someone with experience in healthcare customer service, insurance navigation, benefits verification, or revenue cycle.
- Serve as a primary contact for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers
- Explain insurance benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, and patient responsibility
- Provide financial guidance and available options/resources (no collections)
- Communicate via phone, email, SMS, and chat
- Partner with internal teams across billing, insurance verification, and operations
- Document interactions in CRM systems (Salesforce), EMR/EHR tools
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare privacy standards
- Track customer interactions, key metrics, and service outcomes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced customer experience
- 2 years of healthcare customer service, patient support, or insurance coordination
- Experience with medical insurance, benefits verification, claims, or revenue cycle
- Ability to clearly explain coverage and out-of-pocket costs
- Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
- Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and multitasking
- Experience with Salesforce, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or home health
- Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans
- Prior authorization, eligibility verification, or medical billing
