We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative CAD Drafter to join our design and engineering team in the furniture industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and visually compelling technical drawings and 3D models for furniture products, ensuring designs meet manufacturing standards and client specifications.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for furniture components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production teams to develop and refine product designs.
- Interpret sketches, verbal instructions, and design concepts into technical drawings.
- Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
- Revise drawings based on feedback from design reviews or production issues.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
- Assist in the development of prototypes and support the transition from design to production.
- Work with materials such as wood, metal, upholstery, and composite materials.
- Associate's degree or certification in Drafting, CAD, Industrial Design, or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, Rhino).
- Experience in furniture design or manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of materials, joinery techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with rendering software for visual presentations.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and production workflows.
- Familiarity with sustainability and ergonomic design principles.
