Overview:
A well-established organization in Frederick, MD is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HR Generalist/Benefits Assistant to join their HR team on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone with a background in human resources or benefits administration who is comfortable working in Excel and managing sensitive employee data. The position is fully in-office and offers a collaborative, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment, dependent eligibility, and life-event verification appeals
- Support employees with benefits claims and provide required termination notices
- Process leaves of absence including workers' compensation, short/long-term disability, and FMLA
- Administer reasonable accommodations processes
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party administrators on claims and accident processing
- Maintain and archive employee data files per company guidelines
- Identify and report irregularities within assigned responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, attorneys, and external agencies
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in HR or benefits-related roles
- Intermediate Excel skills required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
