We are seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our team as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) Apprentice. This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to start a career in the biomedical field. The apprentice will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to learn how to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair medical equipment in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) on a variety of medical equipment
- Support troubleshooting and repair of devices such as patient monitors, infusion pumps
- Learn to follow manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Assist with equipment installations and inspections
- Follow all hospital and safety protocols
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- Interest in biomedical equipment or electronics
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Strong willingness to learn and take direction
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a hospital environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical school or coursework in biomedical, electronics, or related field
- Basic knowledge of medical equipment
- Previous hands-on or mechanical experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in clinical environments for extended periods
