Systems Analyst 4 (Manual Testing / MMIS Claims) - Hybrid (Richmond, V

Job Summary

We’re seeking a senior-level Systems Analyst (SA4) with deep expertise in healthcare claims processing and strong manual testing leadership experience within MMIS/MES or similar large-scale claims platforms. This role is highly analytical and hands-on, focused on impact analysis, cross-module workflow alignment, defect triage, and execution of SIT/UAT/E2E testing in a multi-vendor environment.

Note: This role is primarily analysis manual testing. Automation testing is not required.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Conduct impact analysis for system changes, enhancements, and module implementations within MMIS/MES
• Lead analysis across FAS Member, Claims, and Finance modules and define high-level solution approaches
• Evaluate workflows, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
• Support system development lifecycle: design reviews, integration testing, defect resolution, and production validation
• Serve as senior liaison across vendors, fiscal agents, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Coordinate cross-module alignment to prevent downstream conflicts across Member/Claims/Finance workflows
• Support audit/compliance efforts with expertise in FAS processes, data structures, and reconciliation workflows
• Drive root-cause analysis for complex production issues and coordinate long-term corrective actions
• Develop and execute test strategies: SIT, UAT, E2E
• Perform Agile testing activities: sprint planning support, test case design, user story validation, continuous sprint testing
• Create business test scenarios, test cases, and test data; support execution and documentation
• Lead defect triage calls across multiple vendors; ensure accurate tracking and timely closure
• Report UAT progress, results, and metrics; maintain thorough testing documentation

Required Qualifications

• MMIS (or similar large-scale claims processing system) experience – 5 years
• Agile testing experience – 10 years
• Manual test scenario development – 10 years
• Manual test case creation test data preparation – 10 years
• Test execution defect tracking – 10 years
• Metrics reporting test summary documentation – 10 years
• Coordination of SIT/UAT/E2E testing – 12 years
• Azure DevOps (or similar test management tools) – 5 years
• Managing defect triage calls across multiple vendors – 10 years
• Strong debugging/problem-solving skills; excellent communication and organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Mainframe testing – 7 years
• DB2 testing experience
• Teradata (complex queries)
• Data conversion, mapping rules, validation, ETL design, programming logic
• IBM Cognos or similar reporting tools
• COTS application testing and integration/data conversion across MES modules

Work Arrangement / Candidate Notes (important)

• Must be able to work onsite in Richmond, VA 3 days/week
• Local Richmond-area candidates strongly preferred
• If not local, candidate must be willing to relocate before the engagement begins (commuting >1 hour each way is not acceptable long-term)
