Job Description

The Business Development Specialist coordinates with ULS’ larger customers over the Renewables Advisory industry.

You assist in carrying out pre-determined strategies with industry leads to generate revenue growth and achieve booking goals. You build and maintain strong client relationships and participates in customer meetings to ensure customer satisfaction.

You promote the organization's capabilities to clients, and identifies target opportunities to be forwarded to account managers in order to drive a foundation of industry growth for ULS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal development for assigned Services Lines, including organizing project requests, developing proposal outlines and schedules, and coordinating proposal team activities.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the administrative process including account setup, contract negotiations, credit requests, account information updates, proposal generation.
  • Drive discovery and opportunity qualification for assigned services.
  • Analyze request for proposal (RFP) documents and communicate client requirements to project managers to ensure proposals meet these requirements.
  • Work with project managers and subject matter experts to organize and develop proposal content that demonstrates UL Solutions’ capabilities and solutions.
  • Edit, revise, and proofread proposal content to ensure it is clear, concise, and that follows UL Solutions standards.
  • Continue to develop the proposal process and templates to streamline the proposal generation process.
  • Maintain Salesforce opportunities, accounts, customer information, meeting notes, and ensure communication up to date.
  • Coordinates with the project manager to build and foster key customer relationships , identifying customer needs and pain points.
  • Communicates with customers primarily remotely (video, phone, email) to promote and sell Renewables Advisory services; travel as needed (up to 15%) for conferences and key client visits.
  • Responds effectively to urgent and sensitive customer issues, and focuses on sustaining customer satisfaction and loyalty by maintaining a relationship with the customer
  • Assists in up-selling opportunities.
  • Maintains knowledge base around assigned services to best respond to customer questions, and address customer needs.
  • Supports sales executives and sales managers in creating forecasts for the assigned services and clients.
  • Develops and manages relationships with assigned prospects and customers, articulating value proposition.
  • Brings in additional technical resources (e.g. project managers, SMEs) when needed to support sales opportunities of assigned services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and/or graduate degree in engineering or related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and CRM software.
  • Relevant technical capabilities related to assigned specialty product / service.
  • 3 years of related sales experience.
  • Drive to learn and gain knowledge and experience with within assigned advisory portfolio.
  • Business acumen and deep understanding of business sales processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is$80,000 – $105,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary.

This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
