Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Credit Officer role based at the Branch, LA location. The Credit Officer will evaluate loan applications, analyze financial information, and assess creditworthiness in line with the bank’s policies and risk guidelines. Responsibilities include verifying customer documentation, conducting field visits where required, preparing credit appraisal reports, and recommending appropriate loan structures. The role also involves monitoring loan portfolios, tracking repayment behavior, and reporting potential risk indicators promptly. The Credit Officer will work closely with branch teams to ensure timely loan processing, maintain regulatory compliance, and support the bank’s mission of serving unserved and underserved customer segments.
Qualifications
- Strong credit analysis and risk assessment skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements and cash flows.
- Knowledge of retail and MSME lending products, credit policies, and regulatory guidelines relevant to small finance banks.
- Proficiency in documentation review, data entry, and use of core banking or loan management systems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and collaborate with branch and operations teams.
- Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to make objective, data-driven decisions within defined risk frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field; relevant banking or credit certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in credit underwriting, lending operations, or branch banking roles, preferably in retail or microfinance segments.
