What are the responsibilities and job description for the University Supervisor of Student Teachers / Supervisor of CSBO Interns - School of Education position at uis?
The School of Education at the University of Illinois Springfield is in search of a pool of qualified persons interested in the supervision of teacher candidates or supervision of CSBO interns. The greatest need for teacher candidate supervision is in the Springfield and Chicago land area with some demands in other areas throughout Illinois.
Teacher candidate supervision responsibilities: This position involves
- Mentor teacher candidates in their semester-long student teaching internship.
- Serve as a liaison between UIS and the school district personnel, primarily the cooperating teacher.
- Observe the student teacher on-site and provide formal and informal assessments of the teacher candidate’s teaching performance, requiring a minimum of 4 on-site observations with brief post-conference meetings.
- Attend an annual virtual synchronous training.
- Participate in three monthly meetings held virtually throughout each semester to discuss arising needs or concerns.
CSBO intern supervision responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of the student’s clinical experiences proposal.
- Participate in virtual conferences as needed and one wrap-up conference. The final report of the clinical experience will be discussed at the last conference.
- Maintain contact with the field supervisor and respond to any questions, problems or concerns raised about the student’s progress.
- Evaluate the student and report a pass/fail grade at the end of each semester of participation.
