*Cartographer*
This role involves performing advanced technical duties to develop and maintain county plats and GIS system documentation. Key responsibilities include drafting and mapping county property, interpreting legal descriptions, and updating ownership records resulting from property transfers and divisions. You'll also be responsible for calculating precise property descriptions using trigonometry, managing GIS layers for parcels and subdivisions, and assigning account numbers. Additionally, you'll assist the public with inquiries about land location, property ownership, and deed descriptions, helping individuals locate relevant maps in county plat books and potentially assist with document recording processes.
*Two years of specialized training in drafting and cadastral mapping (from a technical college, workshops, or on-the-job) and four years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Certification in the current version of ArcGIS software from either the Automated Geographic Reference Center (AGRC) or ESRI is required.*
