Position Summary
This position provides high-level project management and analytical support to the Department of Family and Community Medicine. The Visiting Strategic Project Coordinator will work with Primary Care Informatics Investigators to manage the design, planning, implementation and analysis of diverse enterprise-wide strategic projects and initiatives. This individual will engage partners and funders, track deliverables, provide regulatory oversight, and assist in the development of innovative research, educational programs, and clinical care models. Projects may cross multiple functional areas such as education at the undergraduate, graduate, professional education, continuing professional development, clinical practice, research, academic operations, advancement and marketing and others.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive project management leadership and guidance in the implementation of the strategic plan for interprofessional education and collaborative practice, including (but not limited to) the ongoing evaluation of progress toward achieving the outcomes documented in the plan. Initiatives related to the implementation of the plan include: contributing to the progress of work groups established to accomplish the major components of the plan, development of information systems related to academic programs, clinical training, faculty and student participation, building the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) Informatics brand, fostering relationships with stakeholders within and external to UIC, and modifying policies to support sustainability of Informatics in the Department.
Establish and maintain effective communication mechanisms regarding project status, ideas and information, and project developments among team members. Design and implement training plans and roll-out strategies.
Provide comprehensive project management in the planning, development and implementation of strategic health system informatics initiatives. This includes creating and managing project plans, tracking key deadlines and deliverables, developing and refining reports and memos, monitoring compliance and work quality, and ensuring targeted outcomes are achieved.
Coordinate activities within and between stakeholder groups and act as a liaison between the Department and stakeholders.
Provide basic data and financial analysis to support health system initiatives.
Assist with writing and submission of grant proposals.
Attend relevant meetings and events as a representative of DFCM Informatics.
