Position Summary
The Research Associate Professor will provide strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of community outreach and engagement efforts across the UI Cancer Center (UICC). This individual will serve as a key advisor to the UICC Director and as an advocate for community-focused initiatives within center-wide planning, decision-making, and scientific development.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Serve as a
principal advisor to the UICC Director in all matters related to COE.
• Ensure alignment with Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) requirements, NCI guidelines, and institutional priorities.
• Promote consistency of language, strategy, and documentation across COE components in accordance with CCSG expectations.
• Represent and advocate for COE priorities during UICC planning, resource allocation, and strategic discussions.
• Initiate, lead, and support collaborations across departments and colleges within the University of Illinois Chicago.
• Collaborate with other Associate Directors, program leaders, and faculty to advance UICC’s strategic goals.
• Help shape the vision, strategic priorities, and actionable strategies for COE initiatives.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on progress toward UICC strategic planning goals.
• Provide input into budgeting, resource distribution, and infrastructure planning to support COE.
• Build and maintain partnerships with institutional, local, and national collaborators to elevate UICC's community impact.
• Serve as an active member of the Executive Committee and Cancer Scientific Council.
