What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Assistant Professor position at uic?
The laboratory of Dr. Marta Markiewicz-Potoczny in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics in the College of Medicine at University of Illinois Chicago, is seeking a motivated Research Assistant Professor (RAP) to work on understanding the mechanisms of telomere protection in pluripotent stem cells and cancer cells. In a newly opened lab, this is a project that will focus on unravelling the telomere dynamics in cells with specific transcriptional activities. The RAP will work on this and other mechanisms of telomere protection, involving, but not limited to, the role of the DNA damage responses in the process and activations of specific repair pathways.
