What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Aid Associate (Reconciliation) - Student Financial Aid and Scholarships position at uic?
Under minimal supervision, provides financial aid guidance and assistance to students and parents in obtaining federal, state, institutional and private student aid funding. May also be responsible for supervising other professional staff and/or student employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working with the Registrar’s Office and 2nd Review of Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) for official and unofficial withdrawals. This includes the timely return of Title IV funds to the appropriate Federal program. Specifically, on the processing of Federal Programs Pell, FSEOG & Direct Loans and the Return of Title IV Funds.
- Responsible for processing Departmental payments and Agency Scholarship Payments and serve as Department contact to College Administrators regarding student departmental payments and resolving student concerns.
- Following federal, state, and institutional policies create, update, and adjust aid based on analysis of eligibility and various edit reports and evaluation of the level and type of assistance that can be awarded.
- Responsible for Reviewing Pell errors and monitoring Pell Lifetime Eligibility Usage.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures affecting financial aid programs and processes.
- Responsible for planning, assigning, and reviewing work to staff ensuring group objectives are met.
- Hire, train, develop and manage staff meeting area goal set by Director.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
