Position Summary
The Extra Help Office Support Assistant provides administrative and programmatic support for the UIC Health Career Pathway Program (HCPP), a multi-grant initiative funded by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration and housed within the UIC College of Dentistry. HCPP is designed to assist environmentally and economically disadvantaged students in entering and successfully completing health professions programs. The program aims to improve recruitment, matriculation, retention, and graduation rates through enrichment activities that address the academic and social needs of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Duties & Responsibilities
Program Support
- Assist with planning, development, and implementation of HCPP academic year and summer programs, including student academies, pre-matriculation initiatives, conferences, and community-based experiential learning opportunities.
Administrative & Clerical Duties
- Disseminate and collect program applications, surveys, and promotional materials.
- Register program participants and/or their guardians at HCPP activities.
- Answer telephone and email messages; relay calls and messages to appropriate staff.
- Initiate processes to obtain requested information.
- Schedule appointments and meetings when time, place, and participants are specified.
Event & Logistical Support
- Staff HCPP meetings and events provide logistical support as directed.
- Oversee office and program supply inventory; order supplies as directed.
Communications & Digital Support
- Update HCPP website and social media platforms as directed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
