Position Summary
The Extra Help Clinical Actor (Standardized Patient) participates in medical school experiential learning programs, simulating the standardized emotional, behavioral, and physical symptoms of various diseases and chronic illnesses; based on assigned criterion, provides medical students with constructive feedback on the patient experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Follows a rubric to consistently and accurately simulate standardized behavioral, emotional, and physical symptoms for various diseases and chronic illnesses during medical staged encounters.
- Observes and documents the patient experience based on assigned criterion.
- Evaluates the patient encounter based on case study protocol; provides constructive feedback to medical students.
- Attends and participates in trainings and workshops to learn how to portray medical patients in a staged encounter and how to evaluate medical students on those encounters.
- Provides administrative support to program coordinators and assistant directors on an as-needed, project basis.
- Manage day-to-day office operations. Interview, hire, orient, lead, mentor and evaluate staff to meet departmental and organizational needs.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
