Position Summary
This position leads and oversees the strategy, business functions, and operations of the Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute (SAIL) of the Department of Medical Education in the College of Medicine. This position will advance and support simulation within the College of Medicine and other University and non-University entities. This individual will develop and implement salient policies and procedures to ensure that SAIL's operations are efficient and meet the goals of the strategic plan. This position will also represent SAIL when engaging with clients and vendors.
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute (SAIL) operations, including budgeting and finances, staffing, and facilities planning and development.
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of simulation-based programming across Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute (SAIL), working closely with faculty, staff, and institutional partners to ensure alignment with curriculum goals and broader academic priorities.
Develop strategic plans, annual goals and objectives and administrative direction of the unit.
Identify new business opportunities by analyzing and presenting data for the development of new services.
Lead Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute (SAIL) marketing efforts by developing and implementing a marketing plan, and measuring and reporting results.
Oversee and direct the recruitment, training and development of Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute (SAIL) management and leadership team to ensure that strategic objectives are met.
Recruit, select, evaluate, train, and manage administrative staff to ensure that operational needs are met.
Lead efforts to train and support faculty, instructors, and staff in areas such as facilitation, debriefing, and other best practices.
Represent Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute (SAIL) at the national and campus levels on issues relating to simulation.
