Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics to enhance a growing division. The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed at the OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood disorder Institute.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed at the OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois Cancer and Blood disorder Institute.
- Interest in pediatric leukemia and lymphoma is desired as one of the main roles is to assist in caring for patients with leukemia and lymphoma.
- See referral hematology/oncology consultations from throughout the Central Illinois Region.
- Fully participate in teaching programs in hematology and oncology for undergraduate medical students and residents and participate in the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department.
- Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology.
- Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials research protocols through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). This clinic is both a St Jude affiliate as well as active COG site.
- Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration, as needed.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
