Technical Accounting Manager

A great UHY client is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have prior public accounting experience, public company or large company experience, as well as Technical Accounting / Accounting Policy / Accounting Research experience.

The Technical Accounting Manager position is a hybrid position. This is a Client Direct Hire position.

Technical Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional initiatives related to the implementation of new accounting standards and technical accounting matters.
• Partner with external auditors to address complex accounting and reporting issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide guidance on technical accounting matters and financial reporting requirements.
• Research and interpret complex accounting issues and implement related policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and supporting documentation.
• Analyze complex transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Coordinate the preparation of external financial reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and review financial statements, disclosures, and management reporting materials.

Technical Accounting Manager Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Approximately 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a related function.
• Experience leading projects or initiatives in a cross-functional environment.]
• CPA or equivalent certification, or prior public accounting experience.
• Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Background in process improvement initiatives.
• Experience with complex accounting topics (e.g., derivatives, consolidations) preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to research and apply complex technical accounting guidance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
