A great UHY client is seeking a Sr. Accounting Analyst, Compensation and Benefits to join their team. The ideal candidate will have their CPA, experience with a large company and clients and experience with consolidations or other technical areas like SEC reporting, debt, derivatives, comp and benefits or technical accounting.
The Sr. Accounting Analyst, Compensation and Benefits role is a onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.
Sr. Accounting Analyst, Compensation and Benefits Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., HR) to ensure accurate and timely monthly accounting.
- Research relevant accounting standards (U.S. GAAP) in coordination with technical accounting resources to evaluate new transactions or events affecting employee-related costs, and document related conclusions.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual disclosures related to employee cost activities for inclusion in external financial reporting.
- Assist in stock-based compensation processes, including coordination with internal stakeholders, preparation of journal entries, documentation, and processing of related allocations.
- Perform monthly diluted share calculations and contribute to quarterly earnings-per-share (EPS) analyses.
- Provide financial support for monthly forecasts and the annual budgeting process for areas such as healthcare, pension, and incentive compensation programs.
- Prepare and distribute regular payroll reports and respond to ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Support routine funding activities (e.g., retirement plan contributions) and resolve reconciliation items between internal systems and third-party providers.
- Assist with external audit and review activities.
- Support internal control compliance efforts, including documentation and testing under SOX requirements.
- Participate in planning and execution of special projects as needed.
Sr. Accounting Analyst, Compensation and Benefits Requirements
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting with corporate industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and success working within cross-functional teams; comfortable collaborating in a global or culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to assess business impacts on consolidated financial statements, particularly in areas related to employee cost accounting.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
