A great UHY client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their team in Warren, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a CPA with at least 2 years of experience, a go-getter personality with the want to advance and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
The Senior Financial Analyst role is a onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.
Senior Financial Analyst Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance internal control frameworks; design and execute audit procedures to support compliance requirements
- Partner with functional leaders to implement and monitor adherence to finance and accounting policies; proactively identify and mitigate control risks
- Manage accounts receivable and customer financing processes, serving as a key backup for receivables leadership
- Assist with monthly and annual close activities, identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Support financial planning and analysis activities, including preparation and review of financial statements and management reports
- Coordinate with external auditors and support tax and regulatory filings by providing required documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and classification of financial transactions
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, including sales analyses and internal audit documentation
- Identify and support initiatives to improve processes through automation and workflow optimization
- Perform additional projects and responsibilities as needed
Senior Financial Analyst Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 2–3 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial operations
- Active CPA certification with strong knowledge of accounting standards and internal control frameworks
- Experience working with enterprise financial systems or accounting software
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and data analysis tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail, with the ability to understand broader business impacts
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven with a proactive, initiative-taking mindset
