A great UHY client is seeking a Controller to lead accounting and financial operations within a long-standing, family-owned manufacturing organization. This role will oversee general ledger activities, support process improvements and automation initiatives, and play a key role in helping modernize financial and operational processes within a stable and growing business environment.
The Controller role is a fully onsite position based in Cincinnati, OH. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity offering long-term stability, strong leadership visibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a closely held organization.
Controller Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger accounting and month-end close activities
- Support financial reporting, reconciliations, and daily accounting operations
- Assist with process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational upgrades
- Help modernize and maintain accounting spreadsheets and reporting processes
- Support inventory, manufacturing, and operational accounting activities
- Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and business initiatives
- Assist with front office and administrative responsibilities as needed
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and office staff to support overall business needs
Controller Requirements
- Strong general ledger accounting experience required
- Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in a small to mid-sized company environment preferred
- Four-year degree required
- Experience with Epicor is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset
- Ability to work hands-on in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse workforce
- Willingness to adapt, improve processes, and support operational changes
