Corporate Controller

A great UHY client is seeking a Corporate Controller. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing accounting background, FP&A experience, and leadership experience overseeing plant controllers in a multi-site environment.

The Corporate Controller role is a onsite position. This is a direct hire position.

Corporate Controller Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and oversight of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop, recommend, and implement improvements to financial reporting systems, accounting policies, and internal procedures.
• Supervise and mentor Plant Controllers while providing leadership across the accounting organization.
• Oversee short-term and long-term financial forecasting and support enterprise-wide financial planning initiatives.
• Partner with operations leadership to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Prepare financial analyses and executive reporting to support strategic business decisions.
• Develop financial models to support strategic planning and long-term business objectives.
• Prepare financial documentation to support financing activities and banking relationships.
• Evaluate, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate external financial statement audits, statutory reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory and tax requirements.
• Develop and maintain standard cost accounting policies and ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
• Review and approve capital expenditures and major investment requests, including return on investment analysis.
• Coordinate the disposition of idle assets and support asset management initiatives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to drive continuous process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Lead special projects and other strategic finance initiatives as assigned.

Corporate Controller Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• MBA or other advanced business degree is a plus.
• 10 years of progressive accounting and controllership experience.
• Strong manufacturing accounting experience is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience overseeing Plant Controllers and supporting multiple manufacturing locations.
• FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and business analysis.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, and product cost analysis.
• Experience working within a global manufacturing organization is preferred.
• Strong internal controls, audit, and regulatory compliance experience.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and change management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic business mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across finance, operations, and executive teams.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
• Adaptable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
