What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Engineer position at UHSM Health Share?
Healthcare is increasingly unaffordable for many Americans. For those who can afford it, they are in a health insurance system that has become more confusing, restrictive, and lower value with each passing year. Here at WeShare our mission is to bring better healthcare to America at a better price. We offer consumers a member-to-member health sharing program that is much more cost effective than standard health insurance while providing access to over 1.2 million physicians across the country. Come join us on this important journey to create the next generation of healthcare!
WeShare is a rapidly growing faith-based nonprofit that strives to do good while delivering great and affordable healthcare. The company is led by senior executives with an extensive background in both for-profit and not-for-profit enterprises. If you have a bias for action, enjoy challenges, and love creating impact in a massive industry, WeShare might be the place for you!
About This Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to own the quality assurance function for our internal development team. You'll be responsible for ensuring the solutions we build work as intended and catching the things we didn't think of. This is a hands-on testing role with a leadership component: you'll both execute testing yourself and partner with a small external team of QA testers.
A big part of what makes this role unique is the expectation that you'll leverage AI to accelerate your work. You will focus on developing AI skills to generate test cases, define and validate acceptance criteria, help identify root causes of bugs, and create easy to understand bug reports. We're not looking for someone who just runs a checklist. We want someone who thinks critically, breaks things creatively, and finds smarter ways to validate quality at scale.

Key Responsibilities
Exploratory & Adversarial Testing
- Receive completed features and actively try to break them — edge cases, unexpected inputs, weird user flows, the stuff developers don't think to test
- Work with real end-users and simulate their behavior to catch usability issues and logic gaps
- Test across Salesforce (Lightning, Flows, Apex triggers, validation rules) as well as web applications and API integrations
- Work with developers and stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, testable acceptance criteria
- Create AI skills that can validate Salesforce records, field values, automation outputs, and data integrity
- Build a library of reusable validation prompts and test scripts that can be run against new releases
- Document test results and flag bugs with clear, reproducible steps
- Coordinate and assign testing tasks to a contracted team of QA engineers
- Review their test results for thoroughness and accuracy
- Establish testing standards, templates, and workflows so the team operates consistently
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the contracted QA team and the internal development team
- Maintain a regression test suite that grows with each release
- Establish and enforce bug reporting standards (severity, reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior)
- Provide release readiness assessments — a clear thumbs up/down before features go to production
- Track recurring defect patterns and surface them to the dev team for root-cause fixes
- 5 - 7 years of experience in QA, software testing, or a related role
- Familiarity with Salesforce (basic understanding of flows, validation rules, and database architecture)
- Experience testing web applications and/or REST APIs
- Strong written communication — you'll need to document bugs and acceptance criteria clearly
- Comfort using AI tools (Claude) as part of your workflow
- Ability to think like an end user, not just a technician
- Experience with test management tools
- Exposure to Salesforce admin or development concepts (Apex, SOQL, Flows)
- Experience coordinating or leading distributed teams
- Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman)
- CompetitiveSalary
- Ability to make important enhancements to the Healthcare industry.
- Great culture where you work with the founders and key stakeholders in a relaxed, but innovative atmosphere.
Salary : $100,000 - $115,000
