About the Role: RN Night Supervisor
As the RN Night Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in maintaining patient safety, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality behavioral health care during off‑shift hours. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead with calm authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support for nursing services during evening/night shifts
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs
- Serve as a role model, resource, and mentor for nursing staff
- Communicate and document clinical and administrative activities accurately
- Ensure patient and staff safety at all times
- Step into Charge Nurse responsibilities when needed
- Act as the administrative representative during off‑shift hours
- Assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
Position Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- CPR certification preferred (available on-site)
- Handle With Care certification preferred (available on-site)
Education & Experience
- BSN preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing management experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Joint Commission, OSHA, and relevant state and federal healthcare regulations
General Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age (per Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services)
- Displays patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm
- Strong communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic clerical abilities and familiarity with standard office equipment (telephone, copier, fax, etc.)
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and accept constructive feedback
- Willingness to interact professionally with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning
