The UHS Corporate Legal Department is hiring a Counsel - Regulatory to focus on physician contracting and regulatory matters. In this position you will be trained to review, draft and provide advice on a wide range of physician and other mid-level provider contracting matters including support to hospital facility personnel on healthcare regulatory issues. This position also supports general legal matters upon request. Healthcare experience is preferred, but not required.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Drafts and negotiates provider contracts (physician contracts, nurse practitioner, etc.)
- Assist with regulatory issues from time to time
- Participate in the development of and implements strategies for all activities relating to standards of conduct and ethical relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, employees, stakeholders and the communities in which UHS operates
- May assist in due diligence examinations in connection with company acquisitions
Law degree with 1 - 3 years' experience as an attorney and be admitted to a state bar.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and respond to multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and can interact comfortably with executives and senior management
- Strong analytical skills and ability to balance business needs with legal risks
- Willingness to learn and expand areas of knowledge
- Travel periodically required up to 5%
