Position SummaryThe Patient Access registrar role is a clerical position involving multiple tasks and functions to facilitate the flow of patient information across the continuum of care.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
The Patient Access Registrar (PAR) is primarily responsible for answering and appropriately managing incoming telephone calls scheduling patient assessments/appointments, creating pre-registrations including verification of benefits and financial counseling. It is also responsible for performing various administrative and clerical duties required to support these functions and, on an as-needed basis, may be required to perform other tasks. Assists with obtaining accurate patient demographics upon admission/registration. Assist with obtaining required income documentation and forms for patients who qualify for Charity/Indigent Care.
This is a Per-Diem position.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year business office experience preferred in a health care/insurance setting with computer knowledge and data entry skills. Spanish speaking skills preferred.
- Ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner.
- Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.
- Handle with Care Crisis Intervention Training required (Can be obtained upon hire)
- Current CPR Certification required (Can be obtained upon hire
